The Kärntnerhof as a movie location
Lake Wörthersee has been a very popular location for cinema and TV productions since the early 1960s. Hans Moser, Rudi Carell (often a guest at the Kärntnerhof), Alain Delon, Ingrid Bergmann, Hildegard Knef, Heinz Hoenig, Udo Jürgens and Ottfried Fischer - it all started in 1948 with "Der Herr Kanzleirat", with Hans Moser. It was followed by "Du bist die Rose vom Wörthersee", "Wenn die Musik spielt am Wörthersee" and many more.
Whether "Supernasen" with Thomas Gottschalk and Mike Krüger (some scenes were filmed at the Kärtnerhof), "Tender Chaos" with Helmut Fischer or "Tierärztin Christine" with Uschi Glas - they all played at and sometimes on and in the Wörthersee. In 1964, for example, an international cast of stars including Ingrid Bergmann, Omar Sharif, Alain Delon and Shirley MacLaine filmed “The Yellow Rolls-Royce”.
At the beginning of the 1990s, the Schloss am Wörthersee was the focus of three seasons of the well-known television series "Ein Schloss am Wörthersee", which brought Roy Black a grandiose comeback.
The production "Der Doktor vom Wörthersee", the episodes of which were broadcast in 2007, also fits seamlessly into this entertaining series.
The Wörthersee stars, such as Grit Böttcher and Ilja Richter, returned to their old place of work for the feature film "Kaiserschmarrn" (AT), shot at the Kärntnerhof. Antoine Monot jr. plays the main role in the film, which has now become a cult film. Heinrich Schafmeister, Hannes Jaenicke and Ottfried Fischer can also be seen in the Wörthersee comedy.
